8/15/05 Holy shit! The house is now mine!
It does look like one or two of my neighbors have settled so I'm not the first. And I won't be the last because one place is still for sale.
7/27/05 I got the big telephone call today! Settlement! They are allowing me to pick my date so I'm going with August 15th! Wow! This is great! And the interior is coming together very well, I was worried that not everything would go together and look mismatched but the worry was for nothing. And here are the most recent pics. 7/16/05 My house is almost finished! The interior has been painted, flooring is being installed, and the cabinets have been delivered. So far everything has gone rather smoothly and my only complaint now is that the doors now have locks and I'm locked out so I can't follow the progress! But it doesn't keep me from peeking in windows! And here are the most recent pics.

moved into her house today!

here! And my settlement has been narrowed to early August! Won't
be long now! 4/05 Ground has been broken and the
construction is soon to begin! After months of anticipation it has
finally begun and in a few short months I'll finally be in my new home!

8/12/05 Three more days and
it's all mine! I have the walk through at 10:00am and settlement is
at 2:00pm. I have everything that I need for settlement in a nice
little pile on the floor. Proof of insurance, receipt showing I
actually paid for the insurance, the paper with the correct address after
I insured the wrong place (oops!), last years W2, check book and not my
id, that's staying in my wallet. I guess everything is set and if
not I'll find out on Moday!

looking for nearly two years it looks like the big search is finally over!
I'm getting a home! There were two close calls prior to this that
fell through but it looks like this one is actually happening. I've
signed a contract with a builder, a mortgage is nearly finalized and all I
have to do now is pick interior colors and options and then wait for
construction to begin. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like anyone
knows for sure but I'm told it'll probably be six to nine months.
I'm patient...I think. And as you can see, it will be a beautiful
townhouse overlooking a picturesque pond in quiet Lancaster County, Pa.
